Pleasantly surprised by the Reggae vibes given off on Rick Dinsmore's track "You Always Want What You Can't Have" on his album Texas Highway we attempt to dissect what makes it sound so Reggae! A little about the artist:
After moving to London and starting to gig in 2006, James Edge formed James Edge and the Mindstep to record 2010 debut album ‘In The Hills, The Cities’. The working relationships he built around this time would provide him with some dependable collaborators, including regular engineer and occasional co-producer Tom Aitkenhead. A highlight of these sessions was working with string arranger Robert Kirby (Nick Drake, Paul Weller, The Magic Numbers) on the song 'Becoming'.

Steven is a doctoral candidate at the Peabody Conservatory, where he also completed degrees in Composition (M.M.) and Theory Pedagogy (M.M.), studying with Michael Hersch and Kevin Puts. His music has been performed by ensembles and soloists, such as Peter Sheppard Skaerved, The Podcast Opera Company, The Philadelphia Experimental Theatre Ensemble, The Temple Composer’s Orchestra, and The Temple University Singers. Chelsea de Souza is a multi award winning pianist and Steinway Young Artist hailing from Mumbai, India. She is well versed as a performer in music from all genres and holds degrees from the Oberlin College and Conservatory, Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and is currently pursuing her DMA at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
